First Virtual Networker Meetup

Virtual networks bring people together from all over the world. Connections are valuable while building a global network for various purposes, like promoting one’s business or as simple as seeking a job abroad. Distance is, of course, one limiting factor in face-to-face meeting. Thanks to Internet people can communicate with each other in many ways. Setting up a messenger application is only matter of minutes. Starting a chat just takes a click and you are connected to remote places somewhere around the globe. Joining the virtual networks is only the beginning.

Andrea Vascellari and Matti Mattila

I met Andrea Vascellari on Twitter while exchanging daily updates online. Twitter is a service for broadcasting your current status on the net. Whatever you are doing right now, tell the world about it and send a status update to Twitter. Perhaps you like Finnish competitor Jaiku better?

Few months later we were having the first Virtual Networker Meetup in Helsinki on 22, August. This time there were only Andrea and I attending the event, but next meeting will be a huge show! If you’d like to join the next meetup, stay tuned and follow the discussion around this idea. BTW: The red tie was not planned!
